Updated 5 October 2026 · By Ritu K Talreja, founder of Wholesale Trend In Need, a Mumbai-based B2B supplier of Kota Doria and gota patti dress material sourced from Rajasthan

Rajasthani suits are one of the most reliable ranges a boutique, saree shop or reseller can stock: they sell across India, they suit every season from summer to the wedding season, and they come unstitched, so you can tailor them to each customer. This guide explains every major Rajasthani suit style, what each costs at wholesale, how much fabric is in a set, what sells in which season, and how to stock your first lot.

Quick answer: A Rajasthani suit is usually an unstitched three-piece set (top, bottom and dupatta) in one of Rajasthan's crafts: Kota Doria weaving, gota patti appliqué, hand block printing, bandhej or leheriya tie-dye. At our wholesale prices (October 2026), Kota Doria suits cost ₹695–₹1,500 a set (median about ₹918) and gota patti suits ₹935–₹1,550, with an MOQ of 10 and mix-and-match designs from the same maker.

Lengths vary by design and maker. Always check the product page before you promise a stitched length to a customer.

Quality checks before you buy Rajasthani suits wholesale

  • Kota Doria weave: the khat checks should be clear and even. Very uniform, heavy fabric may be a power-loom copy rather than handloom.
  • Gota work: pieces should be stitched flat and close, with no loose ends. Ask whether the gota is traditional metal-based or modern metallised polyester, which is lighter, cheaper and more common today.
  • Embroidery: check the back for loose threads and puckering.
  • Block prints: slight misalignment is normal in hand block printing; smudged or bleeding colour is not.
  • Colour fastness: rub a damp white cloth on a hidden area of a sample.
  • Dupatta: confirm length, finishing of edges and how sheer it is.
  • Lengths: confirm top, bottom and dupatta lengths match what your customers need.

The safest way to check all of this is to order 1–5 samples before a bulk order. Our guide to how sample ordering works explains the process.

How to stock your first lot of Rajasthani suits

Buy wide and shallow: more designs, fewer pieces each. Our MOQ is 10 pieces per maker, and you can mix designs from the same maker, so a first range is usually one or two lots of 10.

Total before GST and shipping 20 sets about ₹18,000–₹20,000

Frequently asked questions

What is a Rajasthani suit?

What is the wholesale price of Rajasthani suits?

At Wholesale Trend In Need, Kota Doria suits cost ₹695 to ₹1,500 per set (median about ₹918) and gota patti suits ₹935 to ₹1,550 per set, excluding 5% GST and shipping, as of October 2026.

What is the minimum order for Rajasthani suits wholesale?

The MOQ is 10 pieces per order, and you can mix designs from the same maker to reach it. Samples of 1 to 5 pieces are available for many designs.

How much fabric is in a Kota Doria suit set?

Our Kota Doria suit sets typically include about 2.5 metres of top fabric, 2.45 metres of bottom fabric and a 2.45-metre dupatta. Always check the exact lengths on each product page.

What is gota patti work?

Gota patti is a Rajasthani appliqué technique in which narrow metallic ribbon, called gota, is cut into shapes such as leaves, flowers and borders and stitched onto the fabric. Gota is mainly produced in Jaipur and Ajmer, and the work is popular for festive and wedding wear.

Which Rajasthani suit sells best in summer?

Light Kota Doria suits, especially printed, block-printed and hand-painted styles, sell best in summer because the open khat weave is airy and comfortable in heat.

How do I check the quality of gota patti suits?

Check that the gota is stitched flat and close with no loose ends, that the metallic finish is even, and whether the gota is traditional metal-based or modern metallised polyester, which is lighter and more common today. Also check the base fabric, dupatta size and colour fastness.

Do you sell bandhej and leheriya suits?

Not at present. Our Rajasthani range focuses on Kota Doria suits in plain, printed, block-printed, embroidered and hand-painted styles, and gota patti suits.

Are Rajasthani suits sold stitched or unstitched?

Wholesale Rajasthani suits are usually sold unstitched as dress material, which lets boutiques stitch to each customer's size. Unstitched dress material carries 5% GST regardless of price.
